Located in San Francisco, California, the Academy of Art University is a fashion institution that transforms students into professional artists and designers. An article by the Huffington Post has done a review of the accreditated college where they held their 21st fashion show on September 9 of last year. The runway contained ten BFA and MFA graduates. The audience was impressed by the diversity of the ideas and clothing. Fashion is always changing and the runway showcased the bright future of fashion. Many of the alumni were inspired by courses they took at the institution. One even used vinyl and PVC along with fabrics to create the dresses. Many went on to win awards for their creative designs. Some used nature as an inspiration for their designs. Some graduates were also inspired by their family history, for example, “Shan was inspired by the sense of peace and joy she experienced during a recent trip to northwestern China.”
